  • LOKTAK ‘FLOATING’ LAKE, MANIPUR

Located around 54km from Imphal, in the state of Manipur. Loktak Lake is the largest freshwater lake in northeastern India, and is also said to be the only floating lake in the world due to the floating Phumdis on it.

  • LIVING ROOT BRIDGE, MAWLYNNONG

Mawlynnong is on the global nature-lover’s list for its living roots bridge. The bridges are constructed from bamboo, but have many small fig tree creepers growing along the structure. By the time the bamboo has rotted away, in 5-8 years, the tree roots would have strengthened sufficiently to carry the weight of people.

Located near Leh in Ladakh, the Magnetic Hill is a natural wonder where illusion seems to defy the rules of gravity. Also known as the “Gravity Hill”, this place pulls vehicles in an upward direction, creating an optical illusion. The hill is a great source of wonder and amusement for tourists every year.

As the name suggests, this place is devoid of human population. Barren Island is known for its breathtaking view of the volcanoes and the mesmerising Indian Ocean that surrounds it.
