This beautiful place is surrounded by coniferous and oak forests, plus the Nanda Devi and Nar Parvat mountains. Auli has also hosted the first SAF Winter Games in India in 2011 and ever since this place has gained immense recognition in the winter sports world. It is located at a distance of 140 km from Gangtok and an elevation of 3,564 m above sea level. A forest house is the only permanent residence in the valley.
